Q: I use your deluxe menu for my personal website and want to use it for a client site that we are putting together at work. However, there is one challenge. Some of the sites we build for our clients are internal only and do not have a proper domain name. In the case of my current client, the site answer to a servername call from within the network. Eg. http://WebServer1/ . They will NOT have a proper domain name (eg www.mysite.com). So, my question is, how can we purchase a license and have this work? Does your licensing need to be tied to a domain name to work? Also, the client has not yet confirmed the server name. How will this work?


A: You need to register the hostname of the website (as appears in the URL, for examplehttp://yourintranet/ , http://WebServer1/).

In you case you should register "WebServer1".

Single and Multiple Website licenses are bound to a domain name.
Developer License - this version of the script doesn't check keys and it isn't bound to a domain name,so it can be used with an application that doesn't have a fixed domain name.

For your new client you can buy Single Website License. You can alsoupgrade to Multiple Website license for the price difference and generate your own keys for theclients or you can upgrade to Developer License.


Q: Is it possible to dynamically generate new popup window"on the go"?
We want several popups to appear. We have tried to automagically assigna random name, but without success, the show() command kills the commands and just redirects.


A: You can do it in two ways:
1) Call different data files with DIFFERENT winID:"window1"!

2) Call only one data file and use deluxePopupWindow.open() function to open your windows:

Q: I have problems with the incorrect copyright in IE7 – I have tried to change as described on your FAQ but it doesn¦t seem to work.


A: Scott, now you're using dmenu.js file v1.14 and data.js file of Deluxe Menu v2.0.
Please, replace dmenu.js file with the licensed one v2.0.

Please, place all this files in the folder where your menu iscreated in.


Q: We have a menu in its own dedicated table row on our website and the table row contains a background image. We want to know if we can make the background on your menu transparent so that you can see our table cell background through the menu.
We have tried using your option to put our image as your menu’s background, but then it repeats for all of the drop downs which we do not want.
We simply want the row of options to be transparent and all of the drop downs to be white.

Is this possible with your system and, if so, how would we go about making this work?


A: You can try to use these parameters:

  var menuBackColor="transparent";
  var itemBackColor=["transparent","#1665CB"];

Or, you can use Individual Item Styles and set images only for the main items.
