Q: Can i install and run this on a server running OS X?


A: Yes, you can use Deluxe Menu on Mac OS X.

To create your menu on MAC you can use HTML version of Deluxe Tuner (for MAC OS). You can find it here:

Q: How can I use Danish characters in my dhtml menu bars?

A: You should turn on "Tools/Use utf8 encode" property.
In that case your data file will be saved in UTF-8 encode. So, you
should set UTF-8 encode on your page too

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html"charset="UTF-8">

If you don't want to use UTF-8 encode on your page you should turn off
"Tools/Use utf8 encode" property, save your data file and manually
change your letters in any text editor.

Q: When the menus drop down the background is white but it is see through, this is ok on the homepage but on the other pages it is making the text unreadable. Is there a way of keeping the background of the submenus solid so it isn't see through javascript expanding menu?

A: You should set the following parameter:

  var transparency="100";

Q: Shouldn’t the dhtml expand menu know what page you are on and expand accordingly?
Or would you need to ‘hard code’ each page to be expanded basedon that page?

Deluxe Tree doesn't save a presseditem as it saves a tree state. It works within 1 page only and if youreload the page you should set a pressed item using Javascript API:
